Mr. Ghamari receives ACC Merit Award 2019
Mr. Ghamari who was elected during the ACC MC Meeting In Dubai as one of the three 2019 ACC Award Winners, received the award during the ACC Congress 2019 in Tashkent.
He is currently acting as President of the Cycling Federation of Iran for more than 6 years. In this period of time, most of his effort was dedicated to seeking for talents among young riders and provide them with opportunities to be trained in a clean atmosphere with qualified trainers.
Before his career at the Cycling Federation of Iran, he used to be the General Manager and Deputy Manager of Sports in one of the important Provinces of Iran, named Markazi for almost 9 years.
He used to be the event director of Milad de Noor Tour (UCI 2.2) for 17 years and made it a great organization experience for the participating teams.
As he used to be a high class Cyclist who has even represented his country in the Olympic Games, he was always requested by Road Cycling organizers in Iran so they benefit from his experience.
He is now one of the ACC Management Committee Members and also head of the ACC Road and Trials Committees for which he is also trying to do his best to make improvements by applying talent finding programs. He was also a successful Cyclist back when he was an active rider. He was a high level national team cyclist since 1989 until 1995 and during this time he achieved numerous medals and represented his country in the Asian Games 1990 and Barcelona Olympic Games 1992. He was also active in training courses and got qualified in National Coaching and Commissaire’s level.
UCI President, Mr. David Lapartient and Mr. Al-Shafar (ACC President) presented him the award.
Other two Award winners were Mr. Vatche Zadourian (President of Lebanon Cycling Federation) and Vice President of Kazakhstan Cycling Federation.
